OCC WELLNESS FAIR

Syracuse University intern Andrea Lamothe (above, at left) and Executive Asst. CJ Young represented The Jenna Foundation at the annual Wellness Fair sponsored by Onondaga Community College. This year we distributed much information about internet safety an extension of our cosponsorship of the NY State Cyber Safety Conference held in Albany every October and were pleased to connect with many OCC students and faculty who were interested in learning more about our mission and the Mentors for Jenna program.
We are proud to attend this fine annual event, and as always extend our gratitude to OCC Professor Amy Klein, who organizes the Wellness Fair every year.

We often hear from many on this subscription list about some free hours here and there, if The Jenna Foundation ever needs some volunteer help. Well, we’re happy to report that this year, more than ever, we can take you up on that offer! Call the Foundation office at (315) 422-0339, and ask to speak with Executive Assistant CJ Young for more information. From office projects this spring, to our annual drive for silent auction donations and event staff needed at the charity ball, there’s a variety of ways you can actively support our mission to build safer communities for us all.

The Jenna Foundation for Non-Violence was established in 1998 by Jenna Grieshaber’s parents and sister in response to her November 6, 1997 murder in Albany, New York, by a paroled violent felon. It’s the mission of The Foundation to work diligently, in Jenna’s spirit, to end violence in our society through a school-based mentoring program, crime victim advocacy, and ongoing community awareness and legislative initiatives.
